Sports Medicine Physician, Mary Gendy, M.D
Dr. Gendy is a Sports Medicine physician who specializes in the non-surgical treatment of exercise-related injuries. She also treats muscle and joint disorders due to aging, injury, or repetitive stress. Dr. Gendy is Board Certified in both Primary Care Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Dr. Gendy is currently a team physician with the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB).
Dr. Gendy is a native of southern California. She graduated from UCLA with her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology and from Wright State University School of Medicine with her M.D. She completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa and spent her last year there as the Chief Resident. Dr. Gendy completed her Sports Medicine fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital – Drexel University in Pittsburgh where she worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates (MLB) as a Sports Medicine Fellow. Her fellowship program was one of the first in the country to train physicians in Regenerative Medicine using Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell Therapy.
Her goal is to help patients get pain relief and increased activity. She has trained extensively with ultrasound and uses ultrasound guidance during her evaluations and procedures. She utilizes traditional and alternative methods to help patients achieve their goals.
